VANNI pays homage to Giovanni Vitaloni, Vanni to his friends, born in Milan in 1907. An artist with a mind for technical thinking, founder and inspiration of the family entrepreneurship for generations to come. VANNI eyeglasses were born in Turin in 1990, made to see the world. They are equally at home in Milan, Paris, New York, Tokyo, and Sydney. VANNI is at the forefront of the industry of creative eyewear design. Its beauty is a mix of genius, culture, and style, and never accidental: it’s a distillation of thirty years of research and experimentation. The Made in Italy touch is present in every tiny detail. The VANNI cellulose acetate is derived from cotton. Each pair of sunglasses is conceived and personalised like a work of art, something rare and unique in the worldwide panorama of eyeglass design, a mix of craftsmanship and millimetric precision.
The metal-framed sunglasses utilise technically advanced processing in a new way: the laser cutting and the multi-layered photogravure on steel sheets experiment with techniques and treatments borrowed from other sectors, paired with manual assemblage and unexpected colours. Colours and treatments are applied according to creative designs, made by hand, with expert care.
